Full-Spectrum vs. Broad-Spectrum Hemp Extract

What’s the Difference?

Hemp extract, or CBD oil, has become a popular natural remedy for a variety of health conditions. But with so many different types of hemp extract available, it can be difficult to understand the differences between them. Two of the most common types of hemp extract are full-spectrum and broad-spectrum. Here’s what you need to know.

Full-Spectrum

Full-spectrum hemp extract contains all of the naturally occurring compounds found in the hemp plant, including cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids. This includes THC, the psychoactive compound that is responsible for the “high” associated with marijuana. However, the levels of THC in full-spectrum hemp extract are typically less than 0.3%, which is the legal limit in the United States. Full-spectrum hemp extract is believed to provide the most benefits due to the entourage effect, which is the synergistic interaction of all of the compounds in the hemp plant.

Broad-Spectrum

Broad-spectrum hemp extract, on the other hand, contains all of the same compounds as full-spectrum hemp extract, except for THC. This means that broad-spectrum hemp extract may provide similar benefits as full-spectrum hemp extract, without the risk of psychoactive effects. Some people prefer broad-spectrum hemp extract because it allows them to potentially benefit from the entourage effect without the risk of THC.

Which type of hemp extract is right for you?

It ultimately depends on your personal preference and the specific benefits you are looking for. If you are comfortable with the potential risk of psychoactive effects and want to potentially benefit from the entourage effect, full-spectrum hemp extract may be the way to go. However, if you want to avoid THC altogether but still potentially benefit from the entourage effect, broad-spectrum hemp extract may be a better option.

When choosing a hemp extract product, it’s important to look for high-quality products that have been third-party tested for purity and potency. This will ensure that you are getting a safe and effective product.

Both types of hemp extract may provide similar benefits, but it ultimately comes down to personal preference and the specific benefits you are looking for.
